Here are my top ways NOT to start a successful coaching business:
- Get so overwhelmed by all the things that you have to do that you don't do anything.
- Interrupt your work regularly to doubt yourself.
- Evaluate and judge the success of your coaching business on a daily basis.
- Blame the economy when you don't have enough clients.
- Try to build the whole business (marketing, business development, delivery, invoicing, etc.) before you get your first client.
- Get business cards and build a website before you've even identified your market.
- "Hi, I'm a coach and I can help anybody with anything."
What are your tried and true ways NOT to build a successful coaching business.
If you've made any of these mistakes, don't worry. Nearly all of us make these mistakes. What's important is to realize that they are mistakes and stop them.
